Protection against EMP and acoustic weapons

The use of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) in a terrorist attack can disrupt or disable an organisation's electronic equipment. For this purpose, an EMP weapon can be used to affect a country, region or organisation's public utilities. In addition to this being the purpose in itself, it may also be used to increase the organisation's vulnerability to other attack scenarios.
Acoustic weapons can be used to pacify or harm an organisation's employees. Like with EMP weapons, this can either be the objective or the weapons can be used to increase vulnerability as part of a more complex attack.
Common to both attack scenarios is that protection against them can be relatively extensive and resource-intensive. As with other security measures, a risk assessment should be carried out to identify the threat, the vulnerability and what needs to be protected. You can then direct your security solution to protect e.g. buildings, sections, cells and critical systems.
