Protection of private sites

If a private organisation owns or has control of the space outside its building, it typically has extensive options to limit access to that space by securing the site's perimeter. Examples include limiting vehicle access and using landscape design to enhance security.

If the private organisation cannot secure the perimeter, the building exterior becomes the outermost security layer. Protection of the building exterior can then be supplemented with additional internal security measures.
