IDS

Intrusion Detection Systems are one of the most widely used electronic systems for monitoring against unauthorised entry into a building. There are many different systems and associated components, both wired and wireless. Components included in a IDS could be opening contacts that indicate the opening of e.g. a door. Further, interior and exterior detectors of various types for e.g. motion detection in a room, detection of technical alarms from external systems, transmission devices for security operation centres, distress signals; acoustic warning devices, etc.
In relation to protective security, we can use IDS for early detection, which can assist the alerting of an incident. Combined with other electronic and mechanical security measures, such as an access control system and a security door, it is also possible to delay the attacker by locking sections or cells.
For the installation of the system, you can follow the installation instructions from Insurance & Pension Denmark (IPD/ F&P). However, this is not a requirement in the context of protective security. In general, attention should be paid to the requirements for installing electronic surveillance in the context of protective security, rather than burglary protection.
If the IDS contains personal data, it is subject to the Data Protection Act (and Regulation, GDPR).
