HVM Barriers

The installation of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) security measures such as bollards, rising arm barriers and wedge barriers, is usually done to meet a desire for traffic control or a higher level of protection in relation to vehicle attacks.
A bollard solution is often a combination of several stationary bollards along the secured area and one or more active bollards in the access road, allowing authorised crossing of the border to the secured area. The advantage of a bollard solution is that it saves space and is relatively easy to install.
Rising arm barrier systems are often combined with other security measures at the perimeter of the building’s site. These can be stationary bollards, a fence or a wall. The advantage of installing a raising arm barrier solution is that you can regulate the pace of traffic flow towards a building through the open and close function.
Wedge barriers are a solid installation that can be retracted into the access road and are typically used in connection with high security solutions. As with rising arm barriers, wedge barriers are often combined with bollards, a fence or a perimeter wall. The advantage of installing wedge barriers is that they can stop most types of vehicles, as the measure has tremendous strength and will usually block the entire access road.
